Jeff has lived all over the country but has chosen to set down roots in Fort Collins; where he completed his graduate work developing a rapid detection test for a foodborne pathogen. Rather than focusing on the “bad bugs,” Jeff decided to follow his passion for the good organisms that ferment food and beer. Before getting involved with the Fermentation Science and Technology (FST) program at Colorado State University, he oversaw the startup of the biotech company, MSBiotec, including the production facility and laboratory. He is presently involved in the “startup” of the FST program where his overarching goal is to help bridge the gap between academia and industry. His favorite beer is the one closest to his hand, as long as it was well made! Jeff has been with CSU in this capacity since 2013.
