Eyal Gerecht, Ph.D. – President and Chief Technology Officer. Co-Founder of TeraBAT, Inc., Dr. Gerecht has extensive experience leading R&D projects. He received his undergraduate degree in 1990 from the University of Houston in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Solid State Physics, and his M.S.E.C.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1994 and 1998, respectively. In 1998, he joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst as a Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate. From 2000 to 2011, he was a Principle Investigator at the National Institute of Standards and Technology developing a number of terahertz technologies for imaging and spectroscopy for biomedical applications. Dr. Gerecht has served as technical PI and Co-PI on a number of NASA, NSF, and DARPA projects. He is one of the US leaders in the development of heterodyne detectors for terahertz frequencies funded primarily by NASA and NSF. Dr. Gerecht was a Co-PI of the successful development and installation of the 1.25 THz to 1.5 THz spectroscopical receiver (TREND) system at the US South Pole Station in 2002-2003. Dr. Gerecht is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
